Border Collie Rescue of North Georgia is a very small rescue organization. We are only able to rescue a few dogs at a time due in part to the training (in obedience, agility &/or herding) we wish for each of them to receive and also in large part to lack of funds and space. We are just trying to do our part by taking in some of what the world has cast out. Please note: also due to lack of space, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO RESCUE PUREBRED BORDER COLLIES. While we occasionally take owner surrendered dogs, our hearts are with the dogs found in shelters or on the street that need IMMEDIATE attention.
Adopting a friend
If you are interested in any of the Border Collies on this website, please e-mail me (jlyon86@aol.com) for an adoption application. Once I receive the application, I will call you to discuss it. If everything looks fine then you will be able to come and meet the dog. You may bring your children or other dog(s) with you at this time if you desire. If everyone gets along and both parties are still interested then I will make arrangements to make a home visit and bring the pet. It is at this time I will verify a secure, fenced yard. If at anytime in your adopted pet's lifetime you are unable to care for him or her or the adoption is just not working out for any reason, I will willingly take the pet back. My goal is to have a Border Collie 're-homed' as few times as possible so I want to ensure the best 'fit' possible so as not to have dogs bouncing from home to home. I would rather help you find the right dog then just try to place dogs as quickly as possible.
NOTE: If you are interested in a pet that is a COURTESY LISTING, please e-mail the foster parent listed for more information.
